Despite undergoing emergency repairs in Freeport, Bahamas, the ship is still not cruising at full speed. This has led to adjustments in its cruise schedule, affecting sailings through October 2025.
Ongoing Delays After Repairs
The ship first encountered a technical issue with its propulsion system on 13th July. This caused a delay in its return to Miami and the cancellation of the 20th July departure. Emergency repairs were carried out in Freeport, and the ship resumed service on 27th July. Initially, the reduced speed was thought to be a cautious measure post-repair. However, it now seems to be a longer-term adjustment.
Impact on Upcoming Sailings
Celebrity Cruises has informed guests about changes due to the ship’s “reduced sailing speed.” At least eight 7-night voyages from Miami have confirmed itinerary changes. These include sailings on 3rd, 24th, and 31st August, as well as 14th, 28th September, and 5th, 12th, and 19th October. More dates might be affected, so guests should keep an eye on communications from Celebrity Cruises.
Sample Itinerary Change: 24th August Sailing
One example of the adjustments is the 24th August Western Caribbean cruise. Originally, it was set to visit Bimini, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. The revised itinerary now includes:
– 24th August: Depart Miami
– 25th August: Bimini, 7 am to 4 pm (previously 8 am to 5 pm)
– 27th August: Falmouth, Jamaica (replacing Cozumel)
– 28th August: George Town, Grand Cayman, 7 am to 4 pm
– 29th August: Cozumel, 11 am to 7:30 pm (replacing Falmouth)
Sea days remain unchanged, and shore excursions are being adjusted accordingly.

Despite the ongoing speed reduction, there are no safety concerns. The ship’s hotel operations, dining, and entertainment remain unaffected. Celebrity Beyond is fully seaworthy, and guests can expect a smooth onboard experience. However, a return to full cruising speed might not happen until a future dry dock.
