Carnival’s Celebration Key Welcomes 2.4 Million Guests In First Year

Carnival Cruise Line has marked the first anniversary of Celebration Key on 19th July 2026, revealing that the private Bahamas destination welcomed 2.4 million guests during its inaugural year of operation.

The milestone was celebrated with special performances and activities for guests visiting from Carnival Conquest and Carnival Freedom.

The impressive guest tally demonstrates the destination’s rapid rise as one of the most popular private islands in the cruise industry. Celebration Key reached its one-millionth visitor after just five months of operation in December 2025, establishing a remarkable pace that continued throughout the year.

Located on Grand Bahama, the destination has maintained consistent popularity across all seasons since its opening. The steady stream of visitors reflects Carnival’s strategic positioning of the port on numerous itineraries across its fleet, making it a regular feature for guests sailing Caribbean routes.

The 2.4 million guest figure represents an average of approximately 6,500 visitors per day when accounting for operational days throughout the year. This level of traffic places Celebration Key amongst the busiest cruise destinations in the region, competing with established private islands operated by other major cruise lines.

Anniversary Celebrations Feature Traditional Bahamian Culture

The one-year milestone was marked with extensive festivities for guests visiting aboard Carnival Conquest and Carnival Freedom, ships with a combined guest capacity of 5,960 passengers. The celebration centred on showcasing authentic Bahamian culture and creating memorable experiences.

A specially arranged Junkanoo performance served as the highlight of the anniversary activities. This traditional Bahamian street parade and musical festival brought vibrant colours, rhythmic music, and energetic dancing to the destination, offering guests an authentic taste of local culture.

Beyond the Junkanoo festivities, Carnival organised interactive scavenger hunts throughout the destination, encouraging guests to explore the various areas and amenities. A giant birthday cake displayed at the destination’s entrance served as a focal point for photo opportunities and celebration.

Impressive Statistics Showcase Guest Activity And Preferences

Throughout its first year of operation, Celebration Key has accumulated remarkable usage statistics that paint a picture of guest behaviour and preferences. The destination sent more than 500,000 guests down its waterslides, highlighting the popularity of aquatic attractions amongst cruise passengers.

The food and beverage operations proved equally successful, with Mini Donut King serving over 400,000 sweet treats to hungry guests throughout the year.
