Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled comprehensive details about its highly anticipated Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay, set to welcome its first guests on 4th September 2026.
The nearly 6-acre aquatic destination promises to deliver 19 waterslides, an innovative active river, Caribbean cliff jumping, exclusive dining venues, and private cabanas when Norwegian Luna makes its inaugural call.
The cruise industry is preparing for one of its most ambitious private island expansions as Norwegian Cruise Line’s Great Tides Waterpark nears completion at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.
Norwegian Cruise Line president Marc Kazlauskas expressed enthusiasm about the imminent opening, stating the waterpark will become “one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic destination experiences that can only be enjoyed when sailing with us.”

Record-Breaking Slide Collection Promises Thrills For All Ages
At the heart of Great Tides Waterpark lies an impressive collection of 19 waterslides designed to cater to every thrill level and age group.
The centrepiece attraction, known as The Great Slide, will hold the distinction of being the only four-person body slide in the Caribbean, enabling families and friends to compete in exhilarating races down its course.
The innovative Breakwater Blaster slides represent another industry milestone for cruise line private islands.
These duelling attractions employ high-pressure jet propulsion to send riders on inner-tubes through steep drops and tight twists, delivering an experience previously unavailable at any cruise line’s private destination.
Most of the waterpark’s slide collection originates from the towering Tidal Tower, which rises an impressive 170 feet above Great Stirrup Cay.
This vertical landmark houses a diverse array of attractions including mat slides, inner-tube slides, and body slides launching from various heights, ensuring guests can select their preferred intensity level.
