Celebrity Cruises has announced the cancellation of the Celebrity Infinity’s 16th February 2026 departure. This decision follows a technical issue and power failure on the previous voyage. The ship now requires further repairs before it can set sail again.
Impact on the Best of Greece Itinerary
Guests were set to embark on an 11-night Best of Greece cruise from Piraeus. However, the cruise line has informed passengers that this itinerary will no longer proceed. The ship was scheduled to visit Mycenae, Crete, and Rhodes, as well as ports in Cyprus and Turkey.
Technical Issues and Safety Concerns
The cancellation comes after a power loss at the end of the previous sailing. This incident led to an early disembarkation for guests. Although the exact cause remains undisclosed, passengers reported hearing the “bravo bravo bravo” emergency announcement, often linked to a fire onboard. Celebrity Cruises has not confirmed if a fire occurred.

In addition to refunds, guests will receive a future cruise credit equal to 100% of the cruise fare paid. This credit is valid for any Celebrity Cruises sailing within the next year. It can be used across the fleet, not just on Celebrity Infinity or Greek itineraries.
