In 2019, Hannah and Mitchell Still embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever. They first met aboard the P&O Cruises ship, Ventura, during a trip to Amsterdam and Bruges. What started as a playful prank quickly blossomed into a romance that has unfolded almost entirely on the high seas.
Destined to Meet
Hannah, a seasoned cruiser from Southampton, encountered Mitchell’s friends at Brodie’s Bar on the first night. Meanwhile, Mitchell was fast asleep in his cabin, experiencing his first-ever cruise. “It was fate,” Hannah said. “Meeting the love of my life on a cruise felt magical, especially since P&O Cruises has been a part of my life since I was 11.”
A Prank That Sparked Romance
Hannah was dared to wake Mitchell up, leading to their first encounter. “I jokingly said, ‘hello, it’s the girl of your dreams,’ and somehow, I was right!” she recalled. As Ventura sailed across the North Sea, the couple became inseparable. Their first date in Bruges and a memorable first kiss in the ship’s Havana nightclub sealed their connection.
Love Blossoms at Sea
The ship’s unique atmosphere played a significant role in their budding romance. “Being on a ship, away from real life, brings out the best in you,” Hannah explained. They spent countless hours talking, even spending an entire night at the buffet. The peaceful sea and vibrant onboard energy created a perfect setting for their chemistry to flourish.
Challenges of Parting
When the cruise ended, saying goodbye was tough. “I cried the whole way home,” Hannah admitted. “Ventura wasn’t just where we met; it felt like a character in our story.” Their love for cruising only grew stronger, with each voyage deepening their bond.
From Engagement to Wedding at Sea
Cruising became central to their relationship. A trip to the Canary Islands on Ventura further solidified their connection. In 2023, Mitchell proposed amidst the stunning Norwegian fjords on Britannia. Their love story, born at sea, continues to sail into new adventures.
Introducing the Next Generation
Now parents to three-month-old Mae, Hannah and Mitchell are excited to introduce her to the world of cruising. This June, they will embark on a family voyage to the Norwegian fjords aboard Iona. With extended family joining, it promises to be another unforgettable chapter in their maritime love story.
