Disney Wish Cruises to the UK: Why It’s a Must-Experience

This is fantastic news for British cruise enthusiasts. In the summer of 2027, the Disney Wish will make its debut from Southampton. This ship is unlike any of the older, smaller Disney vessels that have previously sailed in Europe. If you enjoyed the Magic, the Dream, or the Fantasy, you’re in for a treat. The Wish is truly in a league of its own. Having just disembarked from my seventh Disney cruise on the Wish, I can confidently say it’s my favourite in the fleet. Let me share why this ship is a game-changer for UK cruisers. Or, if you prefer visuals, check out the video below.

Why Disney Wish Stands Out from Previous Disney Ships in the UK

Disney cruises from the UK gained momentum in 2021. This was when cruising resumed, and Disney introduced short ‘cruises to nowhere’ on the Disney Magic. Since then, a Disney ship has graced UK waters every summer. The Magic, Dream, and Fantasy have all had their turn. While these classic ships have their charm, they lack the modern flair of the new Wish-class ships launched since 2022.

Disney Wish: Newer and Bigger

The Disney Wish is a next-generation ship, and it shows. Every corner feels immersive, with a layout that flows seamlessly. The staterooms are bright and spacious. Public areas exude grandeur without being overwhelming. Everything feels polished and refined. Unlike older Disney ships, the Wish resembles a floating Disney resort more than a traditional cruise ship. It’s all about storytelling, atmosphere, and those magical moments that leave you in awe.

Incredible Dining Options

Like all Disney ships, the Wish features rotational dining. You dine in one of three restaurants each night, with the same servers throughout your journey. The three restaurants on the Wish are exceptional and cater well to families.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure offers an immersive fairytale feast inspired by Frozen, complete with a theatrical show featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and friends.

Worlds of Marvel provides a tech-driven dining experience where you become part of an Avengers mission. It includes immersive multimedia and, if you’re lucky, a visit from Spiderman.

1923 is a stylish, elegant restaurant celebrating the golden era of Disney storytelling with classic Hollywood glamour.

The Marceline Market buffet is larger and offers more options than on other ships. Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods also boasts a variety of choices, including pizzas, tacos, burgers, hot dogs, and barbecue food. Unique to the Disney Wish is Joyful Sweets, an Inside Out themed dessert café, available for an extra charge.
