MSC Cruises Updates: Easy Plus Drinks Package Discontinued
MSC Cruises has announced a significant change to its onboard offerings. From 1st August 2025, the Easy Plus Drinks Package will no longer be available for booking. This decision affects all new bookings made from this date onwards.
Existing Bookings Honoured
If you’ve already secured an Easy Plus package before 31st July 2025, don’t worry. Your package will still be honoured, regardless of your sailing date. This ensures that guests who planned ahead can still enjoy their chosen package.
Changes in the Drinks Package Line-Up
The Easy Plus package was previously removed from Caribbean, North American, and Pacific Ocean sailings in December 2024. Now, this change extends to European and UK cruises. However, MSC Cruises continues to offer four other drinks packages: the Easy Package (Europe only), the Premium Extra Package, the Alcohol-Free Package, and the Minors Package.
What Was the Easy Plus Package?
The Easy Plus Drinks Package was a favourite among cruisers seeking a balance of variety and value. It offered a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks priced up to $10. This included draught and bottled beers, wines by the glass, cocktails, soft drinks, and specialty coffees. Additionally, guests enjoyed a 10% discount on wine bottles.
Dining Flexibility with Easy Plus
A key feature of the Easy Plus package was its availability in specialty restaurants. This was not an option with the lower-tier Easy Package. It allowed guests to enjoy drinks in various venues, including the main dining room, buffet, bars, and à la carte restaurants. Prices ranged from £47 to £57.50 per night on UK sailings, with gratuities included.
Impact on Dining and Drink Choices
With the removal of the Easy Plus package, guests seeking a broader drink selection will need to consider the Premium Extra Package. Alternatively, they can opt for the more limited Easy Package. This change may affect dining plans for those who frequently dine in specialty venues, as the Easy Package does not cover drinks in these locations.
Consider Your Options
As always, it’s essential to evaluate whether a drinks package aligns with your habits. Remember, packages must be purchased for the entire cruise duration and for every guest in a cabin, including children. This ensures a seamless experience for all guests onboard.
Explore Other Package Options
Despite the removal of the Easy Plus Package, MSC Cruises still offers a variety of drinks packages to suit different preferences and budgets. The Premium Extra Package is the top-tier option, covering all drinks priced up to $16 / €14 / £14. It includes craft, draught, and bottled beers, among other choices.
Stay informed and choose the package that best fits your cruising style. Happy sailing!
