MSC Cruises is set to transform the family-friendly entertainment scene at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas. Starting January 2026, new activities will be introduced to enhance the guest experience. This expansion aims to make the island a seamless extension of the onboard experience.
Ocean Cay already boasts eight pristine white-sand beaches and a variety of water sports. The island is also home to marine conservation initiatives led by the MSC Foundation. Many cruise itineraries offer late-night or overnight stays, giving travellers ample time to explore.
Wellness and Sports Experiences
Guests can look forward to daily wellness activities led by professional fitness coaches from MSC ships in the United States. The beachside sessions will include yoga, functional workouts, and hot yoga paired with ice baths. Sunrise yoga with sound-healing elements will also be available. These activities are designed to help guests relax in a beautiful setting.
Augmented Reality Treasure Hunt
A new augmented reality (AR) treasure hunt will offer an educational adventure around the island. Guests can use mobile devices to scan custom-built wooden sculptures. This will unlock digital stories about local marine life and conservation efforts. It’s a fun way to learn about the island’s ecological themes and native species.
LEGO Pop-Up Experience
Families arriving at Ocean Cay will be welcomed by a vibrant LEGO activation at the Welcome Pavilion. The interactive setup will feature seven LEGO mascots and MSC Cruises’ own character, Doremi. These new additions complement existing activities like snorkeling, paddleboarding, and jet skiing. Guests can also visit the Marine Conservation Centre to learn about coral restoration.
MSC Cruises describes these enhancements as part of a broader effort to offer more immersive shore experiences focused on sustainability and wellness. More details on the phased rollout will be shared in the coming months.
