Princess Cruises Updates Packages After Guest Feedback

Princess Cruises Updates Plus Package After Guest Feedback

Princess Cruises has swiftly responded to guest feedback by revising its recently updated Plus add-on package. This change comes shortly after the initial modifications were introduced. The cruise line, part of the Carnival Corporation, initially faced criticism for including non-alcoholic drinks in the 15-drink daily limit under the Plus package. Previously, only alcoholic beverages were counted.

Unlimited Coffee and Tea, But Soft Drinks Still Limited

In a recent press release, Princess Cruises announced a significant update. Specialty coffee and teas are now unlimited in the Plus package and won’t count towards the 15-drink daily cap. However, many guests remain dissatisfied. Soft drinks like Coca-Cola and Diet Coke still count towards the daily limit, unlike in the Premier package, where both alcoholic and soft drinks are unlimited.

Mixed Reactions from Guests

The update has sparked mixed reactions among passengers. Some long-time cruisers expressed disappointment, feeling pushed towards the more expensive Premier package. Others noted the change favours coffee and tea enthusiasts over those who prefer fizzy drinks or water. One guest wished for an option where non-coffee drinkers could enjoy unlimited soft drinks without them counting towards the daily total.

Price Adjustments and New Perks for 2026 Sailings

The revised Premier and Plus packages became available on 22nd July 2025, affecting voyages from 2026 onwards. US guests will see price increases, while UK passengers will experience hikes on select ships. The Premier Package now costs $100/£75 per person per day, offering unlimited drinks, shore excursion credits, and more perks. The Plus Package is priced at $65/£50 per person per day, featuring 15 drinks daily, unlimited specialty coffees/teas, and enhanced dining options. On the new Sphere Class ships, both packages will incur an additional $5/£5 per day.

Guest Feedback Continues to Shape Policies

Despite some dissatisfaction, many passengers appreciate Princess Cruises’ willingness to listen and adapt. The cruise line positions these changes as part of a broader initiative to enhance onboard flexibility and value. This is particularly appealing to travellers seeking a more tailored cruise experience.
