Carnival Cruise Line is introducing a new pricing system for its drinks packages and WiFi plans, meaning passengers could pay different amounts for the same onboard extras depending on when and where they cruise.
From 1st December 2026, the cruise line will introduce dynamic pricing for these popular packages, replacing the more standardised approach previously used to calculate their costs.
The change means prices will vary according to factors including the length of a cruise, its itinerary and the time of year.
Carnival says the new system will provide passengers with greater flexibility when arranging their holidays. However, the announcement has prompted concerns among some cruise customers about whether the changes could result in higher costs.
The new pricing policy was revealed alongside Carnival’s introduction of FunPacks, a separate initiative allowing passengers to purchase combinations of onboard extras at discounted rates.

Carnival has confirmed that its beverage packages and WiFi plans will be priced according to three main factors: sailing duration, itinerary and season.
This could mean passengers booking similar packages for different cruises encounter different prices, even when the services included are essentially the same.
For example, a drinks package purchased for a seven-night Caribbean cruise could be priced differently from one purchased for a shorter sailing or a cruise departing during another season.
Carnival has not provided a detailed breakdown of how much prices might vary under the new system, or confirmed whether the changes will generally result in higher or lower costs compared with existing rates.
The announcement also does not establish whether prices for an individual sailing will fluctuate as its departure date approaches.
That distinction is important because dynamic pricing can take several forms.
Some businesses use the system to adjust prices frequently in response to demand, while others establish different prices for products based on predetermined factors such as dates, locations or seasonal conditions.
Carnival has specifically identified sailing length, itinerary and season as factors in its new approach, but has not outlined any additional variables that might influence the final price.
For passengers, the most immediate consequence is that comparing the cost of drinks and internet access across different Carnival cruises may become less straightforward.
Those budgeting for a holiday will need to consider the prices quoted for their particular sailing rather than assuming th
