Disney Cruise Line Announces Major Change To Popular Adults-Only Restaurants

Disney Cruise Line is making a fleetwide change to its adults-only Palo restaurants, removing the fixed-price dinner menu and introducing a revised dining benefit for some of its most loyal passengers.

From 22nd October 2026, Palo, Palo Steakhouse and Palo Trattoria will operate exclusively with à la carte pricing, ending the option for guests to select a meal from the existing $55 prix fixe menu.

The decision also changes how Platinum and Pearl members of Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Club loyalty programme receive their complimentary dining benefit.

Rather than choosing a meal from the fixed-price menu, eligible passengers will receive a $55 per person credit towards dishes ordered from the restaurant’s full à la carte selection.

Disney Cruise Line informed affected Castaway Club members of the upcoming changes by email, with the new arrangements due to take effect across the fleet next Thursday.

The change gives qualifying guests more flexibility over what they order, although those choosing dishes costing more than the credit allowance will need to pay the difference.

How The New $55 Palo Dining Credit Will Work

Under the existing arrangements, Platinum and Pearl Castaway Club members can enjoy a complimentary dinner at Palo by selecting dishes from the restaurant’s prix fixe menu.

That menu costs $55 per person and offers a relatively limited selection compared with the restaurant’s wider à la carte offerings.

Guests currently choosing the fixed-price option can select from two appetisers, two salads, four main courses and two desserts.

From 22nd October, the separate fixed-price selection will be withdrawn, allowing eligible loyalty members to use their $55 allowance towards dishes from the full dinner menu instead.

The credit matches the price of the outgoing prix fixe offering, meaning Disney Cruise Line is maintaining the same monetary value for the benefit while changing how it can be redeemed.

However, the revised arrangements introduce an important distinction between the value of the credit and the final cost of a meal.

For example, a passenger ordering $70 worth of eligible food would receive the $55 credit and pay the remaining $15.

Those whose food selections remain within the allowance would not face an additional food charge, although beverages and gratuities remain the guest’s responsibility.

The benefit also extends to passengers sharing a stateroom with a Platinum or Pearl Castaway Club member, provided the qualifying loyalty member attends the dinner.

This means other guests in the same accommodation can also receive the $55 allowance, rather than the credit being restricted solely to the member who has achieved the relevant loyalty status.

In its notification to passengers, Disney Cruise Line confirmed the move away from the existing menu format.
