Carnival Cruise Line is testing extended operating hours for Guy’s Burger Joint aboard Carnival Conquest, with the popular complimentary venue staying open later into the evening.
Brand ambassador John Heald confirmed the trial has received overwhelmingly positive feedback, prompting the cruise line to evaluate whether the extended hours could be implemented across other ships in the fleet.
Carnival Conquest was deliberately chosen for the extended hours trial due to its operating schedule of predominantly short sailings from Miami.
The 2,974-guest vessel primarily operates three- and four-night Bahamas itineraries year-round, attracting guests who typically prefer more casual dining options over formal Main Dining Room experiences.
Heald explained the strategic reasoning behind selecting this particular ship for the test. “A while back we started testing something new on Carnival Conquest by keeping Guy’s Burger Joint open later into the evening,” he confirmed in a Facebook post addressing guest enquiries.
The shorter cruise durations mean passengers often seek quick, convenient meal options rather than committing to lengthier dining experiences.
Guest Response Drives Potential Fleet-Wide Expansion
The response from guests has exceeded expectations, according to Heald’s statements on social media.
“The response has been fantastic. People have really enjoyed being able to grab one of Guy’s burgers for dinner, and because of that we’re looking at whether this might work on other ships in the future as well,” he noted.
Passengers sailing aboard Carnival Conquest in recent weeks have noticed Guy’s Burger Joint remaining open well beyond the typical 6:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. closing time observed on most vessels in the Carnival fleet.
The extended hours have allowed cruisers to enjoy the venue’s signature burgers, fries, and other offerings as a dinner option rather than limiting them to lunchtime choices.
However, some inconsistency appears to exist in the implementation. Guest feedback on Heald’s post indicates that whilst some recent sailings have featured the extended hours, others have still seen the venue close at the standard 6:00 p.m. time.
Neither Heald nor Carnival have specified the exact extended closing time or confirmed whether the later hours apply every evening of the cruise.
Carnival Conquest’s Year-Round Miami Operations
Carnival Conquest maintains a permanent homeport in Miami, Florida, where she offers a consistent schedule of short getaway cruises to the Bahamas.
The three-night itineraries feature a call at Celebration Key, Carnival’s newest private destination on Grand Bahama Island.
The four-night cruises also visit Celebration Key alongside a second private port call.
That second port of call varies by sailing date, alternating between RelaxAway (formerly known as Half Moon Cay) and Princess Cays.
