Oceania Cruises to Launch Oceania Aurelia for World Voyages in 2027

Oceania Cruises is set to relaunch the Oceania Nautica as the Oceania Aurelia in late 2027. This transformation is part of the OceaniaNEXT programme, aiming to create a more intimate and luxurious experience for cruise enthusiasts. The revamped ship will cater to long, immersive itineraries, including the highly anticipated 2028 and 2029 Around the World sailings.

The Oceania Aurelia will undergo extensive renovations to become a more exclusive vessel. With a focus on suite accommodation, the ship will offer a residential feel, perfect for extended voyages. The reimagined ship will host fewer than 500 guests, supported by a dedicated crew of 400 officers and staff. This is a significant reduction from the current capacity of around 670, ensuring a more personalised and spacious experience for travellers.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, describes the Oceania Aurelia as the ultimate world explorer. The ship is designed for guests seeking greater space, more suites, and personalised care, especially on longer journeys. It will provide a club-like atmosphere, making it feel like a home at sea and offering travellers a deeper connection to the ports they visit.

Originally built in 2000, the ship measures 30,277 gross tons and spans 593.7 feet in length. Oceania is transforming her into a vessel for leisurely global exploration. The inaugural 2027-2028 sailings will lead into two 180-day world cruises and a broader programme of Grand Voyages.

More Suites And A New Onboard Mix

Accommodation will be a major focus of the Oceania Aurelia’s transformation. The ship will feature 238 accommodation units, with 179 of these being suites. Many suites will exceed 300 square feet, with some reaching up to 1,000 square feet. These spacious suites will include separate living and dining areas, enhancing the residential feel for guests on longer sailings.

The suite offerings will include refreshed Owner’s, Vista, and Penthouse Suites, along with newly introduced Oceania Suites and Horizon Suites. A selection of Oceanview and Inside Suites will also be available. Reports suggest that butler service will be part of the accommodation experience, adding an extra layer of luxury.

Dining on the Oceania Aurelia will be a destination-rich experience. Venues will include The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Terrace Café, Waves Grill, and an evening Pizzeria. Menus will reflect the destinations visited, reinforcing the ship’s focus on long-haul, destination-focused itineraries.

The Baristas coffee venue will relocate to Horizons, accompanied by two new additions: Bakery and Crêperie. Guests can also enjoy the new Founders Bar, which will offer mixology-led experiences as part of the refreshed public spaces. Oceania Cruises is committed to providing a unique and enriching experience for UK cruise holidaygoers, making the Oceania Aurelia a standout choice for those seeking adventure and luxury at sea.
